VerifiedSurplus™ Guide
VerifiedSurplus™ defines what qualifies as surplus inventory on Surpl.io and what cannot be listed. Every listing must satisfy these requirements before publication.
Already-produced inventory that is no longer needed for its original intended use.
Accepted VerifiedSurplus™ categories
Inventory produced for an order that was cancelled before delivery.
Excess inventory held beyond projected demand.
Unused inventory remaining after a season or program closure.
Material produced above the original order quantity.
Material that did not meet a specific QC threshold but is otherwise sound.
Surplus arising from forecast adjustments or program changes.
Prohibited inventory
The following are not permitted on Surpl.io:
- Made-to-order inventory
- Unlimited replenishable inventory
- New production sourcing
- Inventory produced specifically for marketplace resale
Condition disclosure
Meets original specification with no defects.
Minor variances or cosmetic deviations disclosed in listing.
Known irregularities documented with images and notes.
Documentation requirements
- Origin (country of production) and production date (month/year).
- Original intended use and surplus classification.
- Total available quantity — confirmed as finite and not reorderable.
- Lab reports, QC documentation, or testing notes when applicable.
- High-resolution material imagery with consistent lighting.
Swatch preparation
Standard 4×6 inch swatches for fabric. Trim swatches mounted on labeled card stock.
Include listing ID, lot number, fiber content, and color code on every swatch.
Flat envelope or rigid mailer. No buyer-identifying material — addresses are issued by TrustLogic™.
Seller acknowledgment
Required at listing creation. False acknowledgment results in listing removal and account review under TrustLogic™.
